No it's not very normal to gain 5 pounds in a few days but if thats all you weigh you need the extra weight.

Everyone on this site makes me feel fat. I already way as much as Alan Webb. Any more weight will negative effect my running.

I feel normal here..lol I've always been the skinniest kid, but in xc I feel normal until someone takes a picture of my legs and I see how freakishly stick like they are =/

But yeah your fine, maybe you were hungry and bloated at the same time. Happens to me all the time. hahaaa

I often gain and lose 5 lbs in one day, so don't be too alarmed at that. Just make sure the weight gain isn't caused by eating like 50,000 more calories per day than you're used to, and you'll be fine.

i dont like weighing myself, cause as RWS says, i feel heavier than most of the ppl on these forums. even though im like 5'6, and last i checked 135ish.
but i dont look fat, i just always feel like i am around our other really skinny runners. =/

doubt it. if you already weigh as much as a well built pro athlete as a teen, you might have a problem.

And your coach allows him to compete? Doesn't your school have a BMI rule of at least 17? Because that BMI is at a dangerous level when taken into account his amount of exercise.

that's weird that your school has that rule. i guess it kind of makes sense, but i've never heard of it before. i'm sure there would be a lot of runners who wouldn't be aloud to compete if everyone followed that rule. my bmi is 16 i think i'm not super skinny.
