Hello!/Running foot problem Empty Hello!/Running foot problem

Post by thelagwagon Sun Sep 14, 2008 7:52 am

Hey guys, I'm back, after less than 2 months! I'm in a house now, with my brother, which is pretty cool. And I have a car. At last. And internet now! So should be here regularly.

Well there's an actual point to this post, so I guess I'll start off. After having a two month break, (from holiday in July, and various activities in June), I started running again when I got back. Since August, I've been running small distances (25km a week usually). Two 10km runs, and one 5km is what I usually do. About half of this distance is very steep hills. But, over the course of a week, I started getting this pain along the outside edge of my left foot (opposite the arch), and my heel. It wasn't too bad at first, but the last few times I've been out, it killed. I looked it up on the internet, and it might have been plantar fasciitis, but it doesn't hurt at all in the mornings, and I only even notice it when I'm doing physical activities (it's stopped me from skating as well). But I don't notice it if I'm just walking. There is no pain in the arch either, it's on the other side of my foot to the arch. So basiclly I'm clueless, and I don't want to go to the doctor cause I'm so lazy. Any help? And hi to everyone again! You guys know I couldn't go without RT for more than a few weeks Razz

Just rest it up, and come back slowly.

WELCOME BACK!, and I saw a guy at my university with "lagwagon" on his shirt. I thought of you. Then BAM you come back!

Great to see you guys again Very Happy cheers!

And looks like rest it is. Good timing, I'm getting wisdoms out on thursday, and dentist says I won't be able to run for a week, cause I'll be on painkillers :S Not keen. I get a week of school though!

EDIT: Oh, and does any recommend doing any elliptical trainer for the time being? Will this just make it worse?
