    1. grats on your pr or something yea...
    2. A PR is a PR and no matter what distance it's a decent time that he is happy about. I doubt he is trying to fool you, in fact I doubt he is smart enough to do so. So let it go. If you want to keep going though, I will go into a lot of explaining of how your logic is incoherent in every way.

i was posting in response to posts saying "don't question the course length, that's absurd" with "actually, it
makes a lot of sense to question the course length." i was just defending those who questioned it, personally
    I don't care that much

Unless he ran 18:18 a long time ago, it is more likely that he ran on a short course than is that he took
45 seconds off of his pr. I just see so many runners in my league claiming to have run 17:00-17:30 in "5k"
races who can't break 5 in the mile or 11 in the 2 mile that I'm always skeptical unless it's on a track
    or a USATF certified course.

There are plenty of people who can run a 17:30 5k without a sub-5 mile.

yeah i did run an 18:18 a long time ago. like 3 months ago and that was just like getting out and doing a 5k and then i took some time off of racing and just did my workouts. and came back, relaxed, didnt warm up to hard, didnt start out to fast and die in the first half mile. i actually raced smart this time and felt great.
people have days like that and it had been 3 months. lol
for those of u who dont believe me i really dont care, cause i know wat i did and how i ran that day.
and yeah, i dont think i could make this up. i have no reason too. lol
and someone who gets out a freakin measuring wheel on a course and walks 3.1 miles. thats accurate to me.

nice job dude, but you didn't break 18. you stepped on it, smashed it, ate it, then crapped it out and sent it down the sewer.

sounds like the course is legit, too. how many races are you planning on doing before you end your "season"?
