Gatorade/Powerade alternatives?

So for the past several (2?) years coach has had us drink a Gatorade/water mixture with salt (so, 1/2 and 1/2) during practice, with 8-20 oz of straight Gatorade after practice.

I was marginally okay with this, except that yesterday, when I went to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth taken care of and a couple of cavities filled, my dentist let me know that I need a root canal

She said that this is probably because of the Gatorade (though Powerade works the same way, because of the citric acid).

Is there something I can drink that's hydrating that won't rot my teeth? Or am I just going to have to suck it up?

that made me laugh, and im not sure how funny it really was...

I've been brushing and rinsing every time I drink my Gatorade, but the dentist told me the citric acid stays in my teeth (Maybe because I cracked it? Would that make a difference?).

Oh, and eternally_running; my jaw still hurts quite a bit but that's probably because they were my wisdom teeth rather than regular teeth. I had two regular teeth pulled last year and it wasn't so bad. Definitely not something to work yourself up over!

^ ya, im talking about dreading the wisdom teeth pull.....Everyone that has gotten them pulled said it was torture....

Use a drink mix like Tang sport or something. Or just drink water. Try Propel though.

Like fk send just brush your teeth right after it. I drink gatorade right after practice and I have never had a cavity in my life.

Beer, lots of carbs.
