Jeremy Who?
Did anybody else read the ESPN magazine article titled Jeremy Who? It's about Jeremy Wariner. If you haven't read it I recommend you do.

I read it and i payed close attention to the part where they talk about track not being popular. How much do track athletes make.

I hate to say it, but it would be more likely that a sprinter and not a distance runner would be the one to get America excited about track and running.

I record all track events on my tv then watch them later. When there is a race long than 1500m I just fastforward it to the final 3 laps because I get bored/sidetracked easily. A sprinter would definitely be someone to bring the sport back into the spotlight.
Tyson Gay could be the male sprinter to do that...???
Allyson Felix will definitely do it for the girls though!

Re: Jeremy Who?
And you assume that from? Unfortunately Europeans don't have the greatest distance runners anyways.
No really, I'm trying to figure out where you get a stereotype of a culture rather than the stereotype of the event itself. Really, even worldwide I doubt people give as much a crap as us about running. So why would they care so much about a 2-3 hour race than watch a nice 400 or 100. People want to watch the fastest man/woman in the world. Not the one with the biggest balls.

Haha, I know I am in the minority but I love watching marathons. Like the women's Olympic trials I watched the entire livestream for 2 and a half hours straight.

Re: Jeremy Who?
I just got done reading it before I got on here.. weird lol
I really liked it, I think wariner would be really cool to meet. I like the part where he said he can sit in a restaurant in his own hometown and no one recognizes him.. kind of sad.

You two are crazy. I couldn't watch running for 2 1/2 hours unless I was doing something else while watching it.
