Re: Alternative Fuel
I've heard they can use aluminum (sp?), hydrogen and of course biodiesel.
But you would have to plant so many corn crops, soybeans etc..to actually replace gasoline.
OR my favorite, people can use public transportation that runs on ^ the above. Or ride a bike, walk w/e. Maybe it would slim some americans down too.

We need to get one started now. But I think the energy crisis is really just big business. I believe the big oil companies are not drilling enough where they should be. Bush's war isnt helping any too.

agreed, we have one but I also have 7 kids in my family.
They're really $$ to fill up, so I dont even understand why people would want one.

For every fat person in America, there is one SUV in the world. That's my representation of American obesity.

No. Although it is astonishing how healthy habits can't really stop people from being obese.
My friend who just turned 13 is 183. His sister who is 10 is 150. His mom is a pediatrician who is obese. My friend weighed as much as I do now when he was 8.

0 emissions and even something like hydrogen which is as clean as can be, it still uses coal to power the plants that make the cars.

Did anyone see the episode of mythbusters where they used frying oil from a fast food place? well, they did and I don't think they had to change anything in their regular gas using car. They just put frying oil in the gas tank... I thought that was weird.

Re: Alternative Fuel
The key to alternative energy will be making it profitable for the producers and cost-effective for consumers. Hydrogen isn't quite there yet. Hydrogen cars only get about 80 miles before needing to be refueled. The technology needs to be worked on a little bit, but I do think we need some sort of alternative energy.

Re: Alternative Fuel
Hydrogen is the next thing but right now it is unstable and like funrunner said it doesn't go far before needed to be refueled.
There is also proto-types for a water powered car but I'm sure thats not going to work in our generation.

Re: Alternative Fuel
Ya I heard of the water powered car before, sounds like a good idea. Only problem is it was made in some guys garage lol. And with the veggie oil, that only works with diesel fuel cars, and they have to be tweaked a little in order for it to run. I don't think you can just put it in there.
About a year or 2 ago GM said they were going to move onto hydrogen for ALL of their cars by 2010, but that doesn't seem to still be the case and I havn't heard any more about since then.

Yeah, I don't see why people don't buy more hybrids either. You save money, isn't that why we got in this problem in the first place?
