I have my license, but I don't have a car. Which is a bit of a pain, since I don't live with parents anymore, I don't have access to a car at all. I don't have a bike either, comes to think of it.
Is it pretty normal for people our age to get cars from parents, in the US? Here everyone either saves up for a $1000 piece of crap (which is why I'm usually being driven around by cars from the 80s...), or goes without. Two of my mates have cars given to them, one is an englsh dude (he should make it into the adult olympic swimming team, next trials...) who drives a Toyota MR2, and an indian dude who drives a Holden Commodore. I don't think you get them in the US, but it's a 6.0L V8. So, basically only the rich kids get them

Used to drive an '01 Toyota Corolla, but it was my dad's car.
When I get my permit/license (again) I'll probably just go out and buy a sturdy little car--something that will last forever but isn't too expensive.
