I am establishing my base mileage but Im a little confused here. I dont know if it should be a tempo everyday with a long run on saturdays or what. Im currently at 35 mpw with a 5.10/15 min mile pr. Im looking to break into the low 18s this year but another factor is burnout. I want to peak to full potential at the ago of around 26 and I just dont know what Im doing.
How many mpw should I be doing?
    What pace?
    Easy day/Hard day?
    Long runs?

no like 5.10-5.15....dont do tempo everyday....

run easy miles most days and add in tempos everyonce and awhile

long runs once a week i say

you dont want to peak too early

your 13 it doesn't matter. i ran 10 mpw and didnt care and ran a 5:14 mile. if you are training this hard this early then you will certainly burnout like next year

well you have to take into consideration that he might not be able to run that fast doing 10 mpw just becaues you did. everyone is different. some people can run faster than others with littler training, especially at our age (13)

buy a bike for cross training, and put down an hour every day, it will only help.
alternate easy and hard days so you don't kill yourself, and don't double until you are at at least 40 mpw, which I am not even sure if you are going that high.

im just saying you dont need to throw in legit tempo days. keep your mileage relatively low and bump up the intensity from time to time. just wait until your muscles mature a little bit because your skeletal system isnt fully mature until around 14-15. then you can start doing legit training without fear of really getting hurt
