If I'm sore in the first run of my base phase? My right quad hurt a little and so did my left knee, I think it's just because I haven't run in almost two weeks, but I don't want to risk injury this early in my "season." I only ran 2.68 miles too at 7:50 pace.

not at the moment, your body is still trying to ajust to running then not running to running again. Your should be just fine after a couple more runs, just make sure the pain dosen't get worse or is prolonged for more then a couple more days.

    agree ^^

and I'm the same way. I tried running again and had bad knee pain.
I haven't tried after that though because I got sick. But usually weird pains go away after a week or so (for me anyways...)

no, i know when i start next week im going to be going a ton slower than usual and be really tired. but after maybe a week or so you'll be back to where you were on easy runs so don't worry about it.

I think I'm taking today off, running tommorow, sunday off, Monday run, tuesday off, Wednesday and Thursday run, Friday off, run 5 times a week for 2 weeks, run 6 times a week for a few weeks, run 6-7 times a week for the rest of summer.

I mean that sounds smart to me. I did something similar to begin and now I'm doing six days a week.

i guess not but if your running just nice and easy your runs you'll probably be fine to run 6 days a week your just sore because of your time off its perfectly normal how many miles are you doing you could be doing too much for just getting back into it. but if you feel most comfortable doing it that way then thats fine just take it slow and easy the first couple weeks.

yeah, youre fine. after just 3 days off from my broken arm my quad was real tight. halfway through your run stretch so it doesnt hurt as bad. the most important thing is to stretch it immediately after.
