So i guess for my yearbook this year they decided to highlight one person from each class to dedicate an entire page to. Turns out I'm the "star sophmore" so i'll have my whole page. Pretty cool considering they had nearly 400 kids to choose from. The girl writing it sent this rough draft:
He sticks a note in his shoe and then laces up his flats. CoachName Changed offers the team last minute advice, encouraging them to “Run Smart”. His thoughts race, heart pumps faster and he looks around at the competition. Eyes closed he says a silent prayer before a team chant. The gun fires and he sprints out caught in the stampede of runners. Me is a cross country runner. He can often be found running all around the town in some very fashionable short shorts. Most people don’t understand how hard it is to race at the state level. With each stride he is pushing his physical limits his legs ache, lungs scream for air, but Me says, “The pain is crazy but I live for it!” Over the years Me has participated in the National Junior Olympics twice. The national competition has helped him realize how hard he will have to work to compete in the Olympics, but he says “No goal is too far to shoot for.” These individual accomplishments mean nothing to him compared to his team. “This was the first year My School participated at the State Championships as a team, which shows what can happen when a group of guys work relentlessly towards a goal; that’s what I’m most proud of.”
