Unless those girls started really early and are headed for burnout, that coach has not had enough time to relly make an impact on them and therefore it is almost all talent.

They didn't start early. The coach is good though. He has his own training philosophy and is somewhat different than the norm. I'm improving alot in a small amount of time and hope to break my 5K PR this weekend.

One of the girls got injured(broken toe) and in about June she was back and slow, at about a 22:40 5K. But right now she is at about 19:10.

i lol'd. people aren't slower just because their school is slightly smaller than most schools...schools are D2 because they usually have fewer people, so, worse teams. not individuals.

whats the fastest frosh miler youve ever seen? im gonna be an 8th grader this year during track and im aiming at 4.50's.

haha good point but d2 times tend to be slower...but cvca recruits like no doubt in my mind their a private school and are freaking ridiculous at every sport they have a ranked running back on their football team and own at soccer..ugh they tick me off lol. theres no way they should be in our conference. like honestly...hahaha sorry about that rant anyways point--d2 times tend to be slower.

I'm too lazy to look up her season besy when she was a freshman, but we were both freshman in 2006 xc and she ran 18:16 on a somewhat hard course for state. also 17:54 for 3 miles on a hard course. In track her freshman year she was 10:46 for 3200 and 4:58 for 1600.

edit: accidently said 4 miles instead of 3

Those 15 seconds are harder than you think. My friend whose also in 8th grade did a 4:51 mile last year and did 17:30 for a 5K.

a girl in our region as a freshman last year ran a 17:46
her name is Gabrielle Anzalone, shes ranked 9th in the nation right now i think.

Was that at pasco?? Thats a really good freshman time for that course, Pasco (from what my friend told me Razz

) isn't that hilly, but somehow its enough where it makes the course suck, like alot of gradual up hills.

Our fastest freshman on the team runs a 19 something (guy and girl) but we have a seventh grader who ran a 9.50 on a 1.9 mile xc course with bad knees, I think thats pretty good. The kid looks like he's 9 (reallly short and tiny) , but he's so sweet Smile

Yeah, Pasco. Its decievingly hard. No big hills but the whole thing is a bunch of gradual ones.

Oops I realized I said she ran 17:54 for 4 miles, I meant 3 miles
