Do you feel talking with a team mate or someone else helps you run faster?
I think so because 1. It keeps you relaxed which is the key to fast distance running. 2. It take your mind off the pain.

I agree.RawBeginner wrote:So, your 6.5 mile run over terrible hills, while carrying on an easygoing conversation, was 5:51 pace.....but your 5k time trial the other day was 5:50 pace
Grain of salt, you should take them.RawBeginner wrote:So, your 6.5 mile run over terrible hills, while carrying on an easygoing conversation, was 5:50 pace.....but your 5k time trial the other day was 5:50 pace

1. I had no body to run with in my time trail.
2. The time trail was in grass.
3. Our xc course has lots and lots of sharp turns.
4. I had a cramp in the time trial for some reason.
5. I took the time trail easy because my coach knows what I can run because he saw my 5 mile race and my mile race.
6. You get to go down the hills you go up in the 6.5 mile run.
7. I was really relaxed today because of the talking
8. I just felt good today.
If you don't want to believe me don't.

Shens. How can I believe that the same man who out-kicked someone today on an easy run took a time trial easy?

When you're relaxed you need less oxygen.
I use a pace calulator and thats 5:50 miles on a hilly ass course.

same here, I don't like talking much on runs unless it's an easy run.PCNQtrack wrote:I am usually stone cold quiet on my runs; i just focus better and run better
