    If I'm just doing a training run, as long as I don't over eat it doesn't really matter. For a race, I can't eat anything for 1.5-2 hours beforehand.

    Plain vanilla ice cream

    After I run? Usually I have some raisins within the hour, and a meal 3-5 hours later.

    well, my favorite drink isn't a very good thirst quencher... so if I was absolutely parched, I would probably survive better w/ gatorade than really rich and sugary coffee drinks lol
