Favorite Non-Distance Event

Just curious what everyone's favorite event in track that's not a
distance event. I'd say going from 800 up but 800 is close enough to a
sprint, so if people think it should be included we can add it later if
that's possible. (outdoor events)

I can only fit in 10 events so I combined a few into one choice.


EDIT: I forgot Javelin, in case there's somebody who likes that it can go in w/ the shot and discuss.

Mine would be the 400, I used to run it in middle school before I fell in love with long distance.

I've tried high jump once at the very last meet. My coach thought I'd be good, well I sucked..haha but It was my first time trying it. I want to try it again because it was really fun =]

i put 100 but i would rather do the steeple cause its awesome but none of it in nd

200m, most definitely. 400m hurts to much.

+1, out of the list I'd choose like discus or something. It wouldn't be pretty though.

I think long jump would be fun, I would just want to try it sometime.

I think this is one of the best advantages available to us in small high school programs. If we want to do an event like Long Jump or Discus one day, we can just tell our coach "Hey, can you sign me up for X event?" and we will actually be able to do it. You can't do that at a big competitive school or college.

I like the 400.

But the 800 is my favorite event ever (I guess that's middle distance).

I think most schools dont have steeplechase.. maybe I'm wrong, I dont know any schools around here that have it except for colleges .

I forgot to add that 300m hurdles look like fun,but its right before the 800 so I dont think I'll ever get too try it =/

long jump.........i really suck at sprinting.....its sad
lol, if there was like a just for fun meet or something i would prob. do the 400 or 200, but never in a real meet

I really like the 400, but I destroy people way worse in the 110 hurdles so I have to say that. I won one of my races by 2.5 hurdles..lol.

400 && triple jump are pretty awesome.
I tried hurdles at camp and they're alot of fun too.

i could never do the triple jump..... i actually didnt really mind though.....lol

story: i had to fake be another girl from my team at a relay meet. and she looks completely opposite from me. i wasnt even supposed to go to this meet in the first place i just happened to go anyways. so i had to borrow on of my guys friends uniforms tape the back up. and i placed very last in the long jump with a jump of 9'2. and i had to be another person also. i was 3 people(chelsea emby and myself -and had to respond to the names) all in one day.

Hmm well you could probably guess what I picked since my name is Hurdle-Gurl.... I love the 100m Hurdles! 300s are pretty saWeet too but I like the 100s better.
