How will he place?
I was looking at this list where they predicted the top three for each running event. They put him at silver. I think he will definately place, either silver or, in my highest hopes, gold.

I hope first but you never know. I hate to be a negative but I could see him not even getting a medal.

At least everyone will have to deal with it, I think it will just mean slower times all around, not make someone who would have gotten first, get last. Of course, some people may leave in smogier areas or be naturally able to handle it better.

Re: How will he place?
Sports Illustrated doesn't have Hall medaling. I don't think SI knows what it's talking about. Realistically I'd bet bronze, but it never hurts to hope for gold.

Re: How will he place?
Bronze would be expected, silver or gold is a good performance, no medal is a bad one.

bronze, he could pull a gold though, who knows. but if he gets 4rth, it still might not be a bad performance.

Re: How will he place?
I predict he'll never come close to the lead pack, and finish behind dathan in 10th place.

Re: How will he place?
It was a good performance by America in general. Two runners placed in the top 10. It's also important to remember that these two runners have very little marathon experience. They had a race plan and they executed it well, but they never could have guessed that the front pack would have kept up the pace to run 2:06. Hall and Ritz had a plan for an ordinary Olympic marathon. This was not ordinary.
