Same, because eggs are developed in side of the chicken. No chicken no eggs.

But eggs in general came before chickens.

I always thought egg. A chicken has to have been an egg no matter what, so I don't see how a chicken could have come by without an egg.

this one is hard..but I guess the chicken. god probably just created the chicken fully developed..no egg

I look at it the other way around..
The raptor or w/e came before the chicken LAID a chicken egg that had a chicken inside it. Then when I chicken hatched from the egg the raptor was like WTF and ate the chicken, but eventually millions of years later more raptors started laying chickens but they got away and started a chicken family.

Both, the chicken is inside the egg.

Um, maybe God placed a fully developed chicken on earth then it made the eggs...reproduction continues and there is chickens.


or God made something along the lines of a a chicken so that he planned that in X number of years it will eventually become a chicken which produces eggs.

or, there were two identiclly oval rocks sitting on the ground and God looked down on them and wanted them to become something that would make a chicken so he turned them into eggs.

The zygote is a chicken too, therefore solidifying my claim that they both came at the same time.

I think it depends on how you define what makes an egg a certain kind of egg... is it who lays the egg? or what comes out of the egg... For example if a dinosaur lays an egg and a chicken comes out, is it a dinosaur egg or a chicken egg? Because at some point an animal that wasn't quite a chicken (but almost) layed an egg and the DNA had some mutation that made the animal inside the egg a chicken. So since this egg was laid by something that was not quite a chicken you could say that it wasn't a chicken egg... in which case the chicken came first. But if that egg is defined as a chicken egg because a chicken came out of it, then the egg came first.

Kind of makes sense, but obviously not that abruptly. Animals don't instantly evolve from one species to another, but rather from a series of infintessimly small mutations over millions of years
