    chrstine babcock and jordan hasay

Post by BA_Sadie. on Fri Jul 04, 2008 4:53 pm

they are competing the 1500 semis tonight--
Jordan wasn't going to be able to because of a scheduling conflict with her world jr. meet in Poland but, they are letting her have an extension to travel there after the meets over. I'm so excited to see how they do...i really hope one of them makes it to the finals but i dunno...

Hasay made it to the finals, running 4:14. Babcock ran 4:20.

And about German, he would've needed to have a 1500m time around the sub 4 equivalent of a mile. Since he didn't run a 5k or steeplechase this season he couldn't run that either. He could only have run if they had a 2 mile and they did not.

If you noticed, maybe no one else did, but it seemed funny to me. When everyone was chanting to Hasay "come to oregon, clap, clap, clap clap clap"
every time they did the claps part she waved. She would smile for the chant and wave for the claps. I thought it was funny, doesn't take much for me to laugh though.

My team did that for a girl who threw jav for an opposing team. Only difference is we replaced the words "Come to Oregon" with "Please don't eat me".

Hasay did awesome. I'm proud of Babcock for her performance. Isn't this the first time she has done post-season racing? I remember reading an interview and she seemed tired.

he could have had the 1500m time but never ran it. quite obvious because his 1500m enroute is equivalent to a 4 flat

Hasay ran 4:19 at World Juniors and came in 4th. The winner had a 4:15 so maybe if she had rested she would've won, but the Trials were still a worthwhile experience.

UMM IT WAS A SLOW/TACTICAL RACE

THE WINNER WHO RAN 4:15 JUST RAN A 4:05 TODAY AND WILL BE GOING TO BEIJING...
