Time to post up some recaps.

I have 6 days to run just under 40 miles to hit 300 miles for the summer (Highest week was 36.x IIRC) So that will be fun.

I totally called it though, I knew I wouldn't get out of the 30s when the summer started, my knee got fucked up early and I had to spend like 3 weeks in the 20s.

Oh well, I'm in better shape than I started, so that is good.

Ended the summer with exactly 250 miles. (1st summer of actually trying to run miles upon miles! yey!)
    Highest mileage week was 35miles.
    3 not too bad 5Ks.
& XC season just started with me cutting off 1:30 off of my time from a course I ran just a year ago. Very Happy

Since track ended on May 20th, I've run 634 miles. about to do 7 more tonight. I start practice next wednesday and I'll be over 660. I wasn't shooting for any specific mileage goal, and even if I had been shooting for, say, 700, I wouldn't cram in miles in August. My body feels great and I think I could have handled a buildup to 80 mpw, I just had no desire to run that much....

oh gotcha..I just thought you wanted everyone to know..haha

I didn't keep track of my miles. But I know I'm in way better shape since last xc since my almost beating my old 5k prs (I didn't have any races this summer) in practice, and I'm always alot slower in practice.

School started last Monday for me, but I'll post anyway.

    - 346 total miles.
    - Only 4 weeks above 40 (I wouldn't say I'm done with base building just because school started, I'll probably keep it above 40 until the end of August)
    - Highest week was 50
    - Average was 35 for the whole summer

I'm feeling a lot stronger than I did at the beginning of the summer. 6-8 miles felt pretty rough in May, but now 7 miles is easy and routine. My abs also look quite a bit sexier.

well this summer was a huge changing point for me.

i ended summer track the last week in July as a sprinter running about 10 miles in sprints a week. I decided that I wanted to build more endurance for the 400, try an 800, and see what's out there by starting XC.

In the last month I ran my first mile and 5k of my life. (6:24, 23:51) I went to xc camp and learned about long distance life. Since then I picked it up to running 25 mpw.

I came here looking for ideas on where to begin, and you guys were awesome. Thanks for everything. :]

My summer started June 2 and ended today (Aug. 17). I peaked at 50.3 mpw and had a total of 489.6. I didn't do any races because I hate racing... but lets hope this pays off and I stay on varsity.

Ummm, I was out for a month, which sucked.
I finally was able to run again maybe a month and a half ago, and I am now at 45 mpw. I still have 3 weeks left though, and I will hopefully get to 55ish.
I really just hope this season doesn't suck horrible because I didn't build a good base all summer. :/

i was a total fat ass. i just kind of did what i felt like doing day to day. i even skipped running camp and now my coach is probably mad at me again. but i did miracly improve my 5k time somehow and ran 15 miles straight one day. i did 2 5k road races, one 5 mile road race, and another 5k this weekend.

I didn't count my mileage..but today is my last summer day =[ . And I spent it at the mall and cross country practice. exciting.

But probably one of the most boring summers ever, I rarely hung out with any of my friends except for xc practice but that doesn't count.
