I know you should take one every 1-2 weeks, however since I'm doing mostly mileage (1-2 speedwork days) and xc skiing, is it ok to not take rest days regularly?

    2 days a week of speedwork is a fair bit . . .
I wouldn't say you NEED one, but you probably should. If you don't, at least do one run a week VERY slow and very short. I run on my recovery days 8-9+ minutes a mile, while on my easy days I'm sub 7:30.

When I'm really training, I take off 1 day a week or 1 day every 2 weeks.
As of now since I'm kinda training, I take the weekends off.

    dont schedule rest days.

take one if you need one.

And you dont need one if your legs are sore.

What criteria would you use to decide if you need one then?
