    XC Banquet Empty XC Banquet

    Post by Hurdle-Gurl Thu Nov 13, 2008 9:15 am

Pretty much the witch of my team was glamourized. Totally pissed me off.
This girl is a total jerk to everyone on the team, never tries to be a part of the team during practice & at meets, she ALWAYS is creating problems within the team, is full of drama, and to top it off, she has parents that are EXTREMELY controlling of making sure the little princess is in the spotlight.
I personnally believe that her parents have been able to dig something up on our coach because he hasn't been the same him all season. During meets he would be pulled off to the side by them away from the group to talk...CONSTANTLY. He missed one of our races because the girl's dad wanted to know right that second what his daughter needed to do for her foot so that he could leave since she wasn't running. It was one of the best races of my life and my coach missed it. =(
This girl was awarded a "TEAM" Captain award along with me. "TEAM"! I was so pissed!
Reasons Why she should NOT be "TEAM" Captain:
*Always took herself away from the team @ Races
*Straight up told the coach she didn't care how the team did because she's only there for herself.
*Backtalked her team members quite a few times during the season.
*Never wanted to warm-up when the team was starting to so she would throw fits.
& there are many others but I'm drawing a blank right now so...
She also was given the "Most Outstanding" award that the team votes on...yea. I only know 2 people that voted FOR her. When her name was announced it was total shock through-out the crowd. We have about 25 people on our team and we had about 20 people and their parents NOT clapping. I really think that my coach gave it to her. There was another girl who deserved 100% and she didn't get it. I personnally thought this girl was going to be "Most Dedicated" with me but she wasn't. grr! I made her an award to give to her today because she had instant tears when she wasn't announced. Crying or Very sad
And I think the thing that hurts the most is the fact that my coach kept referring to the witch girl as our #1 and he kept saying that she was the hardest working athlete he has EVER coached. Bull shit. She's our #3 girl, and she by FAR is not the hardest working girl he has ever coached. I was pissed! grr!
Ok well I have to go to school now...if I end up remembering more stuff then I'll post again later.

Don't worry about high school awards. Its not fair, its true but no one on my team is ever recognized who should be. I mean the choices my coach picks for captain aren't based on who should truly be captain. I feel like my coach can be oblivious to some things. One of the least hard working girls was captain last year, plus a girl who girl who had quit halfway the year before, because her boyfriend broke up with her and she couldn't handle the stress. I'll probabaly never be captain because, though I work the hardest and care the most about the team, and am willing to stop people from doing what they should be, I disagree with the coach and certain issues. So don't worry, you should have seen who got most inspirational on my team, it was a joke to me. High school awards are nothing, other than a usually a popularity contest.

talk to the coach in private. make sure you let him know how you feel and that this girl is not fit to be a leader of anything.

I'm kinda nervous because my mom is going to go and talk to my coach at 3:30...uh-oh!
She's basically going to tell him what's what with how he treated and coached us this season. I was going to do it on my own but the parents all have been talking and now my mom is prepped and ready. Shocked

    It actually went good. Shocked
He confessed and said that the girl's parents are on his back and ready to go tell on him for anything so he felt as though he was always having to please them.
He told my mom that next yr for Captains I will be captain by his voting and then the team will select another captain.
He started to cry at one point I guess because we're really tight (tight to the point where I look at him as my dad & he looks at me as his daughter) and he thought that I was really hurt by what he had done all season. Ever since the Mid-Season bus incident him & I have never been the same...kinda like a part of both of us died. =(
    My mom & his conversation lasted 2 1/2 hours...DANNNGGG!
On Monday him & I are going to sit down adn have our talk. It'll be a tear jerker I think. lol
