ever since the season started, i've blacked out standing up. ive done some symptom searches and noting that, i've had bad head colds, and some other symptoms, i'm 90% sure i have anemia.

i have state on october 25 and ive noticed my times getting worse the past two weeks so what's a way i can fix this in a week please?

Cut down on dairy products as much as possible and take a multi vitamin or iron supplement with a glass of OJ every morning.

blacking out when standing up is something I have, but have always had so that might be normal for me.

Go get tested I guess, it seems rare for a guy to get it though, since it usually affects girls.

I was really anemic last year. I never blacked out though, I was just extremely tired. Do you get tired right away in races and have your times slowed down a ton? Its not a great idea to take iron if you aren't anemic, so you may want to get it tested. However, a multivitamin wouldn't be too much iron. If you are anemic, you'll want an actual iron supplement rather than a multivitamin. You'l see some improvement immediatly, but it will take several weeks to make a huge change. I think it took 3 or 4 weeks for me to drop like 4 minutes after I took iron.

i might just take 1.5 tablets of teens multivitamin a day this week, it's not too bad a case i think. its has 18 mg of iron which is 100% daily value, obviously not all is absorbed. should that be enough?

    ^that's true.
it's probably the best to go to a doctor to see what's wrong.
just be nice to your parents and don't talk back to them. (i've made that mistake one too many times) If you make yourself sound like you're really really concerned about this and you're serious about it and you wanna get it checked out, they'll probably give in.

    ps, cool new avatar alex!

I had a problem with anemia this year. I got tested a while ago and my levels were low. then I was supposed to get tested again, but I never did. until my 2nd to last race my times were getting slower..I did ok the first meet but after that the times just dropped. I was so tired, I just couldn't pick it up. so I'm still taking an iron pill now. the season is over, but I'm starting swimming in two weeks or so.
it is unusual for boys to be anemic. but if your parents won't take you to the doctor then a multivitamin is the best thing to do.
    hope it gets better!

P2: You need to go to a doctor fast. Although it is rare, my next door neighbor's kid had the same symptoms, and is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. I don't mean to scare you, but when you're blacking out, it could be more serious.

My sister had the same things happen to her her freshman year. She went and took a buinch of tests but they couldn't figure out what it really was. I think they ended up deciding that she had low iron. They gave her iron pills.
Go get it checked right away though just in case, your season can wait.
Has anyone actually SEEN you blackout or anything? If so maybe having them tell your parents will somewhat convince them that you aren't lying.
