    Post by Through_the_Pain Sun Sep 28, 2008 1:57 pm

Its finally happened i got injured now i feel like crap. I went to a doctor on friday and he says its my shoes that have killed my legs. I say i only had them 2 months then he says its a crap show and i have to buy new ones. I thought it was just me and i remembered my friend has the same ones and hes having the same pains as me at the same place. Another kid has them and i always wondered y he looked like he was in pain. now i know why. My season isdnt over though there is chance of recovery. I need to break 14 in the 4k and theres only one left.

Be on the look out for ASICS CUMULUS DONT BUY THEM THEY WILL GET YOU INJURED.

Obviously it will get you injured, it's one of the most padded shoes you can buy.

Where exactly did you get injured?

Wouldn't that make you not get injuried. I just bought a pair of asics Landreth 4 because I'm injuried and they looked like they had a lot of padding

    Maybe I should rephrase that,

It's the most over-padded shoe you can buy.

I saw them at Dicks the other day and they're so ridiculously heavy and padded, and the heel is way too high off the ground.

wait, so are really heavily padded shoes bad?
cuz i have the asics gel nimbus, and they've got a ton of padding and are heavy, but i only use them every other day on easy runs.

They're stability shoes. There are only useful if you have an overpronation. I have shoes similar to those and they give me shin splints.

last time i checked you're injured and hxc isnt.

Just you wait. If HXC keeps believing everything he reads on the internet and runs barefoot (a practice witch has its merits, but I highly doubt HXC will build up to it slowly enough to not get injured), runs 100+ mpw in singles, and keeps piling on the mileage with the 10% rule ad infinitum (as he has already advised you to do in another thread), he will end up way more fucked than me.

The point of my post was that you can't just look at a running shoe and say "Obviously it will get you injured! It isn't a racing flat!" HXC is a minimalist. I respect the ideas of minimalists because they make sense, but I am not a minimalist. HXC should respect the ideas of non-minimalists because they make since. But he doesn't, and he throws out a little internet condescension to prove it. Maybe I shouldn't have called him a fucking idiot. Maybe I should have called him a fucking prick, but I do believe fucking idiot covers both bases quite well.
