    I'm annoyyed with XC

Post by Just Because on Mon Sep 22, 2008 8:54 pm

my team's idea of distance is 7.5km on a trail. Nobody stretches, and my "coach" doesn't want to try and push anyone because she is worried that they would quit. I have to go to practice to go to any of the meets but I have to end up doubling to get any sort of real mileage in. We haven't done speedwork more then once and we're two weeks into the season. I wish I could just run on my own and show up to meets but we have some rule that you have to show up to a certain number of practices (which is a lot of them) when my energy could be better served putting a real workout down.

    My rant..

    1 don't do speedwork
2 ask your coach for a heavier load if you know you can handle it

that exactly how i feel!!! i end up going home and running a workout after practice because the practice was pathetic. No one streches on my school either!! and no one is serious about the sport either!! it is really getting on my nerve!!

How far away do you live because you can run home after practice every day to add in some miles.

Its not as easy as just going off and doing my own thing. If i were to get hurt and unable to walk (example) 30mins away from the school then no one could help me and i can't just run for an hour while my teacher waits for me to get back, thats not fair to her because she has other commitments.

    1) you won't get hurt 30 mins. away from the school.

    2) WHAT THE HECK DOES YOUR TEACHER HAVE TO DO WITH IT?

    1) We run through trails that have a lot of exposed roots and rocks so it is really easy to roll an ankle
    2) My teacher is the coach. All coaches are teachers who teach a subject at the school.
