    I think the "energy drinks" are more like protein shakes and such. And a bit of caffine often helps performance, and you don't get as dehydrated swimming as running (and if you do you can just drink up!)

    Yes, nothing hydrates me quite like chlorine and other assorted chemicals.....but I wonder how all the other swimmers feel. Lochte is probably doing at least 90% of Phelp's training volume, and he might actually be doing the same workouts. He's probably saying "I eat a lot too!" and everyone is telling him "Shut up, Lochte! You're blocking our view of the Boy Wonder."

    heard slightly differently - 12000 calories
    with 1/2 a kilogram of pasta at both lunch and dinner
    and slightly different meals
    but yeah
    thats almost a weeks food :S

    yeah just the other day the radio station had one of the djs eat a phelps breakfast live... couldnt finish half of it!!! Very Happy
